Reopening Updates: Service, Sewing

Service - Bells Return

Starting June 15 and June 17, bells will be sounded in the zendo while one voice will offer the chant. Hosting zoom will occur from the zendo. The following week we will add two more evenings to the evening in-person schedule – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (i.e., every weeknight except Wednesday, our most populous evening, with lecture) continuing our 6-6:30 pm schedule.

In July, Practice Committee will take up considerations of if/when to extend our zazen sessions back to the 5:45-6:25 morning and evening schedules.

Robe sewing classes return, but will take place at Santa Cruz Zen Center, 113 School St., rather than at Gene’s home.

Sewing

We will return to in-person sewing starting June 12. This will no longer be at Gene’s home, but rather will be in the library/community room at 113 School St.

Once we see the level of interest with those who already have their sewing projects underway, we may add dates to the following:

Please see the calendar for sewing class dates.

In order to establish a complete sewing room on the temple grounds, we are looking for an ironing board and organizing boxes of various sizes. Please see Gene if you have any of these things to donate.
