Permanent Wheelchair Access to Sangha House Completed
The Sangha House has become central to our practice over the last few years. It houses the library and kitchen, and is the site for classes, meetings, community meals, and sesshin rest areas. The Sangha House has only been wheelchair accessible by means of a portable ramp that must be assembled and disassembled with each event. The Zendo, dokusan room, office and bathroom have been accessible for many years.
Thanks to our fundraising efforts, Green Builders of Santa Cruz, and advice and reasearch from Sangha members Gene Bush, Rene Netter, Shakti Bell, Liz Milazzo, and Yaro Arny, the access-way has been completed.
