Meet on east riverbank between the Soquel Avenue and Laurel Street bridge. We recommend parking in the Soquel/Front Parking Garage, which is a short walk from the habitat restoration site.
The Santa Cruz Zen Center Service Committee invites Sangha to support the work of the Coastal Watershed Council in transforming the lower San Lorenzo River and Riverfront Parks.
We will be there on Saturday August 13th 10 am – Noon for River Health Day. We will plant and maintain native seedlings along the riverbanks to increase biodiversity and revitalize the river ecosystem. We will meet on the east riverbank between the Soquel Avenue and Laurel Street bridge. All Sangha, family, and friends are welcome to join us!
· Dress in comfortable gardening clothes, including long pants, socks, and sturdy
· closed-toe shoes.
· Bring layers, sun protection and a reusable water bottle.
· Gloves, tools, and light refreshments will be provided.
The Coastal Watershed Council’s vision is to transform the lower San Lorenzo River and riverfront parks into community destinations that draw a variety of people from diverse backgrounds with the goal of making people feel safe at the river and providing access to a wide variety of activities that allow people to relax, recreate, connect to nature, learn about the river, and act to benefit the environment.
