Dharma Gates of Ease and Joy Sesshin
Reverend Beata Chapman offered a refreshing ease and joy Sesshin at the zen center. We loved sitting outside near the earth for some periods. She encouraged us to listen to our bodies and explore alternative postures for zazen.
We did sensory kinhin, walking meditation, smelling herbs and flowers, touching trees and plants growing in the garden and nearby park. We ate tasty vegan dishes and sipped tea mindfully. Beata inspired us with her teaching about befriending our fears, anxieties, and pains, fully accepting everything as it is. Not pushing it away or seeking for anything to be different.
We became ease and joy together.
