Short teachings from local Bodhisattvas
This Fall we studied the Vimalakirti Sutra. In this sutra, the layman Vimalakirti engages conversation with many of Buddha’s disciples and numerous Bodhisattvas, expressing the key teachings of Mahayana Buddhism. The conversations are lengthy and grand, with each Bodhisattva’s name reflecting a teaching of its own.
As part of class, and as a counterbalance to the long and flowery discourses, those engaged with this material were asked to create a dharma teaching of six to ten words, ascribing authorship to their own invented Bodhisattva name. We all thought it might be fun for the Sangha to read these.
