So many of us are grieving for the losses of people, animals, and habitat that are affected by the changes we see daily on our earth.

In our grief we have been lost, discouraged, and have touched despair.

Faith groups are uniquely positioned to address the growing existential challenges of eco-grief and eco-anxiety in our communities.

This ceremony offers a way to metabolize our grief: turning toward our loss, allowing it, and holding it with tenderness. When we touch the earth with our sorrow we transform and are transformed by the very feelings that we carry.

Taking the time to honor our grief allows us to plant seeds of hope for our future.

After the ceremony, all are welcome to join the Earth Day activities at the park, from 12-5 p.m including: Maker’s Market featuring local Artists, Food Trucks, Beverage Vendors, Lounge areas, mini-Yoso spa, Coffee station, informative booths from the History of San Lorenzo Park to sustainable tips, Paradox VIP lounge and a day of entertainment: Kuumbwa Jazz Honor Band, DJ set, La Familia de la Calle, Ripatti & Rose and Soul Majestic!
