Lay Entrustment Ceremony
In recognition of Santa Cruz Zen Center’s long-time practitioner Patrice Monsour
at Santa Cruz Zen Center and on Zoom
All are invited for this Lay Entrustment ceremony in recognition of Santa Cruz Zen Center’s long-time practitioner Patrice Monsour. Patrice is a devoted student of Katherine and has continued her stable and compassionate lay practice for many years. In this ceremony she will be formally entrusted to teach in the Soto Zen lineage of Suzuki Roshi.
Please be prepared to ask Patrice a dharma question, a whole-hearted open-hearted question.
May her deep commitment and understanding of the Dharma be of great ongoing benefit to all.

Patrice Monsour is a clinical psychologist and Senior Zen Student. She began practicing with Katherine Thanas in 1995 and received lay ordination in 2000. Patrice holds a PhD from the University of Denver and worked for over 30 yrs as a psychologist in university and community mental health settings.
