Earth Care/Climate Justice News - Next Meeting Dec 12

Tenzin Chogkyi, Insight Santa Cruz
Our next Earth Care/Climate Justice meeting will be Tuesday, December 12th at 12 p.m. in the Sangha House. We have a special guest speaker! Tenzin Chogkyi from Insight Santa Cruz will be coming to speak about her work in facilitating community conversations, including a program called Let’s Talk About It.
Here’s a little about her program: “These events are exciting --we've done two big events at the MAH featuring the one-on-one dialogues, and want to expand these events to Watsonville and other locations in the county.
We also have hosted large group conversations, one about homelessness with the leaders of agencies doing work around this issue, and one about the community impact of the BLM mural defacement and the proposed restorative justice process, so the possibilities of what can be done with these processes are vast!”
Please come and hear about her experience, and we will explore how this format could be used for climate justice discussions, as we have been envisioning. We could partner with Insight Santa Cruz and other faith groups to do this, and could also bring this format to the Farmer’s Market or other places.
Next, there is an online Interfaith Climate Grief Circle tomorrow, Monday 11/20 at 5pm, organized by Greenfaith. It is an opportunity to learn more about what Interfaith Grief ceremonies can look like, as this is another area we have been discussing. I will be attending, and hope you can too!
